Money = King

Tom Petty's "Money Becomes King" logo

The songs on Tom Petty's 2002 album The Last DJ embody everything the Avrilution™ stands for. Petty rails against how money and capitalist greed have destroyed the creative spirit of the music industry.

The song 'Money Becomes King' brilliantly illustrates how over-commercialization has attacked fans and raped artists of their creative impact, it begins:

if you reach back in your memory
a little bell might ring
'bout a time that once existed
when money wasn't king

The Avrilution™ heartily endorses this sentiment and encourages people everywhere to spread the above logo far and wide. But don't break any laws, specifically don't: make a cardboard crowned-dollar sign stencil and spraypaint it everywhere, never use permanent markers to go tagging, and we would certainly never suggest loading up a bottle full of herbicide or bleach to burn it into fields of grass. Be creative with how you spread the crowned-dollar sign and our message will be heard!
